The secret files of the Ventureverse

So this is it. Tonight is the big finale of the longest Venture Bros. season (or pair of half-seasons) ever. It's been a long time coming. A bit of a departure from our previous season finales in a lot of ways, but I won't go into that for fear of spoiling...

This is a bit of an experiment, this hour-long thing. And for the record, we can't thank adultswim enough for letting us expand our creative horizons and make this thing. For us, it was a very liberating experience and helped salvage our souls from the ravages of a difficult season to produce.

A lot of extra time and love went into this episode, from everyone involved (thank you, VB crew!) We certainly hope you enjoy it...and we'll be checking in with you every commercial break to make sure you do.

More news soon...

We Love You,

Not sure you will reply, but I'm a bit curious about where Venture Bros gets animated. Does the animation get done in the US or only the storyboards? What studio? I'm a recent animation graduate looking for work so I'm just curious and didn't find much about it online after a brief google search.

I think it's drawn in Korea. The good Korea, not that other one.

I was on pins and needles as soon as a certain someone fell and epic music began as the bulky hero in a tux rushed back to see what death may have inspired.

Phenomenal ending. Hope to see some of season 5 before the end of 2012! You guys are the best writers ever!

Great episode. So good that I was starting to worry that I was watching a Series Finale without realizing it.

So, what exactly is an "Action Johnny"?

Thank you, thank you , thank you!

Absolutely exceptional and I pray for news on what you two will be up to next.

Murderously Yours,

WOW! Just finished watching the finale... well worth waiting for! PULP? Really? When I heard the song looping I knew you were saving the bang for something special... and boy, did it ever work! I was holding my breath the whole trip back to the compound! Spanish fly... lol!
Thanks for the wonderful season... I'll be picking up the DVD's as soon as I can find them. Nothing better then VB's with commentary! Have fun with the next season... WE LOVE YOU TOO!

Thank You,Thank You,a million times Thank You!!!!!

Created an account just to say this. Thank you so much for all the joy The Venture Bros. has brought into my life. It is a much needed dose of laughter in an all too often dark and dreary world. Take a break, catch your breath, and we'll all be here waiting whenever it is the Venture Bros. finally do return.....Go Team Venture!

Thank you for this episode, specifically two expressions Brock makes right at the end, both when he's running toward the hanger. His face is twinged with panic - he's afraid he didn't make it. We've never really seen him afraid before and to see he's afraid of losing his family - that adds so much to his character.

Fantastic work.

The Brock and Molotov scene truly broke my heart. I know better than to accept everything you guys do at absolute face value, but I gotta say, I have never been this emotionally impacted by anything I've ever watched or read.

Thank you for making something so great that it would effect me like this.

I'm holding out hope that this isn't the last we'll see of her, and that it's not the end of that particular subplot, but until I know for sure, I won't be able to listen to In Through The Out Door. I hope you're happy.

After rewatching, I'm pretty certain Molotov just plain lied about the Blackhearts (she threatened one of them to go back to the party and forget what they had seen). Which seems more delicious.

my brother's a military history buff, and while I immediately recognized the Pulp track, I knew nothing about this. he explained it, and boy, was that a strange idea. why was he building it on a dog??

Doc and Jackson all the AstrobaseGo cadets, thank you so much for making this awesome television show. There is nothing else quite like it and I honestly doubt that there ever will be.

I have a tiny question about your season 4.2 finale. When Al is talking with Watch on the phone, Watch first says something along the lines of the Guild is not responsible for replacing arches terminated by third parties. Does this mean Torrid is no more?

Thanks again and lots of love. XOXOX

Season 5! Hour long episodes!

Here's hoping we get season 5 in hour-long episodes!

4 for 4! (or 4.2 for 4.2, whatever you're calling this season)

First time I logged into LiveJournal in years, just to say thanks for my favorite season of Venture Bros yet! I really liked how the finale kind of wrapped things up for the cast, but still gave us reason to look forward to season 5.

Also, since the Monarch added his name to the "Eye for an I" list, does this mean we could look forward to a 21 vs. Monarch battle in season 5? Even if we don't get that, I'm eagerly awaiting the show's return.

But for now, rest and get some vacation time in, guys. Take all the time you need to make the next season just as amazing and as fun as everything before it.

I know you all hate being told about continuity problems but I noticed two one was in "Bright lights Dean city" in the scene where the Council of 13's screens start blacking out the shadow of Red Mantel is clearly shown without Dragoon attached. And in Operation P.R.O.M there are 2 sphinxes one being driven by Sky Pilot and another at Sphinx HQ. Had to point those out. Great show guys I love it more and more after each episode.

Re: continuity problems

Shut up, nerd!

1. Subjective fantasy sequences have diplomatic immunity from the normal rules of continuity, and...
2. There's more than one sphinx-themed statue in the SPHINX arsenal, of course. The one inside the HQ is even a totally different scale than the flying one, and it talks.
