The Venture Bros. season V premiere is almost here! Welcome back, everyone. It was a long time coming, so thank you all for waiting so patiently. And extra-special most-especially thanks to the phenomenal cast & crew who helped us bring the season to life!

My co-host (of Ruining It For Everyone) and I are going to record our Venture Brothers episode next week, but we considered doing a 'live' show while watching the premiere. I think our editor would throw a fit.

Great episode! I love that the characters do grow and change over time, but not quite so much and not so fast that it feels confusing. I was wondering if Dean was ever going to stand up to his father about the whole super science thing, and his way of rebelling is hilarious and so, well.. totally Dean XD

What color is your Cleansuit? in juxtaposition to Operation P.R.O.M. is the palate cleansing sorbet between the What's a Rusty Venture course, and whatever is to follow in this six course meal that is Venture Bros. (I Swear to God I read somewhere back there in the beginning that you guys had a seven season story arc in mind from the very start). I could even feel the "coat" on their tongues as the awoke to the "Day After" Hangover that comes when you've done too much partying and you wake up fuzzy headed to find out your late for work on your brother's new giant Space Station thingy. Along with Dean's attitude of things are gonna change, because I crossed a line last night, and I'll never be the same Dean again. Again you've touched the human condition. The characters grow more real, no matter how outlandish they appear, with each episode. Well Done Sirs! Well Done!

If I can ask though, how does Ladle fit into the canon? It seems like with Dean's new look coming so soon after season 4, it doesn't have time to happen.

I think the "real" answer is they didn't make the time match up exactly to when Dean started wearing his new outfit. They used the Dean they knew when they made the special, which was potentially before Dean in black was figured out.

Buy hey, let's do some mental gymnastics and make it work. He came home from The Outrider's place, and went inside. The episode then cuts to Brock, The Monarch, and 21 for a few scenes as well as the title screen. During/after that period, who's to say there weren't a few days where Hank and Dermott filmed for their doc, before Dean decided on the black route? All it has to be is before the Halloween episode (when Doc hints he "has his reasons" for being hard on Dermott, and is after Dean's wardrobe change) and after P.R.O.M. since they mention it.

They also shot that "documentary" over the course of many months, both before and after the prom and the season 5 premiere. Dean's interviews were filmed prior to the prom.

You did Yeoman's work on last night's Venture Libre Sir!
It was hilarious, and full of the kind of references that require multiple watching. The Island of Dr. Moreau, The Creature from The Black Lagoon, even the obscure Robot Monster, Turu from Jonny Quest, I even saw the dog with human face from the 70's Invasion of the Body Snatchers,and even a freaking Oompa Loompa! How do you manage to pack so much Venturey Goodness in to every episode? But maybe the best callback was Hank eating the coffee beans, and getting sick and how it reminded me of Doc talking about the Double Shot Espresso in The Ghosts of the Sargasso commentary! "It was like my Anus broke up with me"! You guys just get better, and better! Like I've said before, don't you ever die!

Long may the Venture Bros. reign!

Just watched the first two episodes of season 5 - outstanding work, can't get enough of this show. Whatever they're paying you and Doc ain't enough, as the Venture Bros. is superior to 98% of what's currently on TV and in the theaters. Well worth the wait, hope the show continues for many years to come!

A friend asked me, "Why the heck would you wait two years for new episodes of your favorite show to come out?" I showed him the double-length season 5 opener. Question answered. I think season 5 is going to not meet but exceed fan expectations.

I just discovered the show - watched all of Season 1 last week, now starting on Season 2 - I LOVE IT. I'm looking forward to getting up to Season 5 so I can be watching in real time! XD

First off, loved the episode, but one complaint. Where is the sphinx logo shirt? I have wanted one since they first appeared and this episode got me totally the chick version of blue balls for one. I love you guys, but my heart would grow three sizes with a sphinx shirt.

adultswim sold a SPHINX shirt a couple of years ago (and I'm sure you can get bootlegs), and we make it a policy to only do designs for Shirt Club that cannot be had elsewhere!

Can't help but notice that Hatred is sporting a new pair of breasts. Instead of asking why I will instead wait patiently for an explanation of this as the season unfolds. I would also like to point out that there is nothing like the venture brothers, and even more so, there is nothing like the venture brothers when they are new.
