Nocturnal Emission
As you've no doubt already learned from timelier Venture news sources (see links in the sidebar), the second half of season 4 of The Venture Bros. will be premiering on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 11:30pm EST.

It's been a busy month. We've delivered five of our eight episodes to the network. The sixth and seventh have been edited and are currently in the care of our steadfast sound engineer, Dave Paterson, who is literally putting all the bells and whistles on them. In about two weeks, we'll be done with every episode except the hour-long season finale, which we shipped overseas about a month and a half after the rest of the season. Speaking of which...

About a week ago, we received the first rough cut footage of the first half of the hour-long season finale episode--which we watched and re-watched with eagle eyes looking for all the mistakes, big and small, and then typed up our usual fourteen page list of retakes. In a little less than two weeks we'll receive the first take of the second half (as well as the second take of the first half) and we'll repeat the same thing. Frith willing, all the retakes will get done swiftly, we'll race through the final picture edit, and we'll actually get that thing on the air when the rest of the episodes are still fresh in your memory.

We think you're really going to like these next eight episodes. We liked the last eight a whole lot, and we think these are better. For those of you who didn't like the last eight, well...I can safely say these new ones have more of the things you thought were missing from the last ones, less of the things you thought there was too much of, and quite a few new and unexpected twists . Just lookit this collage of screengrabs, for instance--Oh! The places you'll go!!!

And, in an effort to avoid being scooped by everyone else, here are the titles of all of this half-season's episodes (some of which were decided at the last minute, while we were making the end credits), in the order in which they'll air...

"The Diving Bell Vs. The Butter-glider"
"Pomp & Circuitry"
"Every Which Way But Zeus"
"Everybody Comes to Hank's"
"Bright Lights, Dean City"
"Assisted Suicide"
"The Silent Partners"
"Operation: P.R.O.M."

And, lastly, a PLUG...

Venture alumnus, super-pal and yiddish-loving Italian-American Stephen DeStefano premiered his new graphic novel, "Lucky In Love" at the San Diego Comic Con, and I was fortunate enough to snag a copy. Now it's your turn. Go buy one:

We Love You,

P.S. Oh yeah, and there's this:

We couldn't be happier with how the dollies action figures came out. Maybe you should buy those, too!

Hooray, Episode Titles!

Hey Mr. Publick :D

Thanks for keeping us posted on all things Venture as usual. (Every which way but Zeus is quite possible the epic title of the half-season in my opinion :D)

And thanks also for the screen caps, I've been itching for more Venture.

Also, send on some congratulations on the figures to the sculptors and the toy company because those things are quality nice! I have series one (and will be picking up series three next week) and I'm thoroughly impressed. (Also, now anticipating excellent Venture/Robot Chicken crossovers that will probably never happen! LOL!)

Thanks again,

Voltaire was getting his undies in a twist over the toys. Too bad your guys' MoCCA event was too packed to breathe, much less stand around and listen in, because your "action figures" are awesome. Very exciting.

Can't wait for the new episodes, and the figures look spot on. Keep up the good work fellas!

Thanks for the sneak peek at the new eps!

Can't wait to see it! Thanks for making such an amazing show!

Better and better. It's gonna be a great Fall, Rusty.

Can't wait for new episodes, and can't wait to see you guys at Dragon*Con!

being a late comer to the awesomeness that is the venture bros., i missed the great t-shirts. will you be doing some like this again? will you reissue the t-shirts? thanks!

Jackson, you're a god! Thank you for this! See you in a few days at Dragon*con!! :D

The evil that is comcast has taken cartoon network away from those of us without digital cable. Will these episodes be available to buy on itunes as they come out, or is there a way to watch them online?

iTunes usually has them right away. And adultswim.com usually shows them as well.

I've been praying to Frith that we'd see the new Venture Bros before the end of the year. Looks great, and with the new action figures I now know what I want for X-mas.

Thanks Mr Publick!

The screencaps look great. I was surprised by my giddy reaction to the Pirate Captain. I missed that guy and I didn't even realize it.

I was also surprised to see myself in that toy video, completely unaware there was an entire interview being conducted literally right next to me. Let's pretend this isn't a demonstration of my incredible powers of perception but more a testament to how fascinating/distracting those toys are.

When the DVDs come out, will you be breaking the season into two halves, or just packaging it as season 4?

The first volume will be released on DVD on October 26. As far as I know, there's no date for the back half, but I suspect it will be out some time in the spring, along with the entire season on Blu-ray.

Dude! I can not wait for the rest of this season. The first half was just freaking amazing. Its funny the other day I realized a reason why this show is so good. Its the contrast thing, for example in south park you have a bunch of normal kids in a normal town who have no right doing crazy stuff at all, but they do everything under the sun with so much insanity you can hardly contain it all. While in the Venture brothers you have a group of people who should be out having giant lizard battles and flying in space ships and meeting ancient dignitaries. But instead you have this group sitting around their house bored most of the time stewing in their own failure. It is amazing on so many levels I just cant believe it. One last thing here, I absolutely love the commentaries you guys record. I have listened to the season 2 & 3 commentaries all the way through probably 20 times. I think they are hilarious, and are great to listen to while I animate. Anyway I really look forward to this half of the season, keep up the awesome work!

Yes! Love that OSI Airship and Billy getting loose!

Oooh, that's got me all hot and ready for S4.2. Is there any chance we could get a group picture of all the cast of this season, even if it's after it's aired? The Season 2 and 3 cast pics are some of my faves, anyways thanks again for making our fall extra-groovy!

Love Ron Bonham

You and Doc and the whole crew have done an amazing job this season. Thank you so much for making this show -- the world is a better place for its existence.

Can't wait to see that FRiendly Neighborhood Copyright-Free Spidey do his thing!

Holy Crap... is that William S. Burroughs Dean?

Hey Jackson :3 what day are you and Doc appearing at Dragon Con?

Me and my pal, who are at the top of your fan list have decided to use my college refund check to hitch a ride to Dragon Con in Georgia for the weekend and sleep in the car for the SOUL PURPOSE of seeing you guys [I you mostly however.] So instead of spending 100 bucks for all 4 days looking, it'd be greatly appreciated if you'd email be back. Super, awesomely, appreciative.

Thank you.

And I can't WAIT to see you two there!!! ^__^ <3
