You should send off some ramen noodles with each order. Since, well, some of us are broke and need to eat while wearing fashionable shirts! (and it's really one or the other sometimes)

Thanks all around for the merchandise and continued Awesomeness.

Props to the episode. I read your AV Club interview and was really glad to hear you guys would start examining the future development of the characters..in the future. I'm too poor to fully devote myself to the shirt club, but I'm glad you guys are allowing individual shirt sales. The Guild shirt is definite on my list.

If they're not all done, can I please request a "porkchop sandwiches" t-shirt?
Aeon: Team Venture[info]october_rust on June 2nd, 2008 04:19 am (UTC)
I second the porkchop sandwich.

I watched the episode online because I'm an impatient bastard. I was iffy on getting the first shirt (mostly due to lack of funds), but I just might get it now anyway.

I almost cried during the end part of the episode man. What a love story it turned out to be! Excellent ep., can't wait to watch it again on the big screen.

So what's the story on that luchador guy who applauded Brock's junk way back in the day? Is he a villain?
George[info]jestermotley on June 2nd, 2008 04:46 am (UTC)
Well he was a henchman to a seedy Tijuana (parts) dealer.

BUT I'm willing to also bet it is also due to funds. Costs money to get new people animated/made up. A LOT of those guys harken back to the Tag Sale your it episode. Which is why they got reused in the Showdown At Cremation Creek.

Course I could be HORRIBLY wrong and maybe the luchador is the guy Jackson said he was going to take further this season. The above is just my logical guess

I just have to say what a fantastic first episode of the new season. I'm glad I waited and saw it on TV instead of online.

Definitely buying the first shirt, I'm too broke to go for the full $250 investment.

The shirt club's too rich for my blood, but I gotta say that the new episode was well worth the wait!

Okay, just to make super-extra-sure...

You guys are printing the shirts AFTER all the orders are in, right? So I don't have to worry about a certain size running out? Because I still have to do a little extra American Apparel research to figure out what size I need. Shrinking and guy shirts vs. girl shirts and all that nonsense.

Further proof that The Venture Bros. is by far the best thing to come out of Adult Swim. The final scene was so sweet.

Also thinking about purchasing the Guild shirt, because I don't have nearly enough dork apparel.

I'm regretting that day back in March when I ran into Doc in the street, and didn't run up and kiss him on the mouth. I love you guys, too.

I'm very much looking forward to my Samson Kodokan Blood Judo shirt, although I suspect I should not actually wear it to my judo club.

I watched the episode twice online and was just as excited when the closing credits to family guy finally came on because I knew Venture Bros. was next. I'm ordering my shirt now. Just wanted to thank you again. Love you too!

p.s. Great music choice! Are you an Elliott Smith fan?
Leslie: :O :D[info]opiumgaze on June 2nd, 2008 04:16 am (UTC)
I've already had a fantastic day, but the prospect of some new Venture Bros. makes it that much better. Thanks for improving my life, apparently!

Also, very excited about the shirt club. Looks like my credit card won't be going unused anytime soon!

Also, fantastic music choice. Elliott Smith was so very incredible. It's sort of neat to see one man I admire, uh... listened to(?) by another man I admire. (I don't know, I'm ridiculous!)

Outstanding ep! Congrats! So, 2 seasons in a row you use Holst's The Planets in the opener - I vote for Saturn next season! (altho the Mars scene is tough to beat!)

Fantastic backstory. I am trying to remember the prev Monarch backstory, as it seemed it didn't all jibe, but perhaps it does!
the_octothorpe: neo[info]theoctothorpe on June 2nd, 2008 04:25 am (UTC)
Saw it, saw it again, purchased the T-shirt.

The downside of using PayPal... they won't let you send it to someplace that isn't your billing address. This sucks the biggest suck, as I wanted to give it as a gift.
Anthony Hersey[info]stormsweeper on June 2nd, 2008 04:44 am (UTC)
If you're registered with Paypal, you can verify other addresses, but that takes a few days.

CRUCIBLE!
Great episode, congratulations! I found it hilarious. Many quotes to use at work to confuse my uneducated coworkers. I do hope the Venture family is in the next episode, though.

Who am I kidding? I would watch an entire season of The Monarch doing nothing but filling out crossword puzzles with Dr. Girlfriend (Wife?).
chris[info]amboy00 on June 2nd, 2008 04:32 am (UTC)
Tonight was amazing.

It was so good I have to get tested tomorrow.

I wish I had the money for these shirts...sorry...

And We Love You Too.

Seriously, awesome episode. There was a collective "awww" from the room when Dr. Girlfriend and Monarch got Villain-Married. So much love all around.

p.s. My friends saw your panel at NY Comicon and I couldn't go. I sent a picture of Molotov along with them as gift - did it ever actually make its way to you and/or Doc or was it lost forever in a pile of fan-art, love letters, and assorted other terrifying paraphernalia of fandom?
craigjclark[info]craigjclark on June 2nd, 2008 04:46 am (UTC)
It was hard, but I actually waited to see it on the teevee -- and I'm stupendously glad I did. You guys knocked yourselves out. Already I can't wait for season three to be out on DVD so I can savor every moment of this episode.
Gill Gilly Gill Gill Sausages[info]persephone_blue on June 2nd, 2008 04:50 am (UTC)
Tonight's episode was WONDERFUL. Good job!

BUT I have a continuity question! I'm a fangirl. It's what I do, I'm afraid.

Has the Monarch always known how Baron Werner Underbheit lost his bottom jaw? Because he didn't indicate that in "Tag Sale - You're It" when he was speculating about the villain with Dr. Girlfriend.

Or perhaps this is a big old retcon and I, um, shouldn't ask questions?
jacksonpublick: World Dominance[info]jacksonpublick on June 2nd, 2008 05:05 am (UTC)
He was just grossed out by the sight of Underbheit without his metal jaw in "Tag Sale," not necessarily ignorant of the cause of his accident. Now, in "Home Insecurity," however, he does act surprised to learn that Dr. Venture supposedly caused the accident...but now we know he was just acting. Or totally forgot about it.
